Sony WH-1000XM3 Unboxing First Impressions

Our Sony WH-1000XM3 unboxing first impressions: it’s not tremendously different than the previous generation (WH-1000XM2). They did add a few things that may be worth the upgrade — USB-C, quick charging, better soundstage, better noise cancelation. They completely missed on other standard features — can’t use while charging, no multi-device connectivity, terrible call quality.

Lastly, we disassembled the headband to find out if they made improvements to it. We didn’t include this in our Sony WH-1000XM3 unboxing first impressions video, but we’ll discuss this at length in our final review of these headphones. They’ve completely redesigned the headband to eliminate the cracking that affected the first two generations of these headphones. The plastic fits together better and the hinge/socket is reinforced to prevent cracking. We know a lot of people want to know more about this, so we’ll be demonstrating the headband improvements in our full review video.

Again, please let us know if you have any questions about our Sony WH-1000XM3 unboxing first impressions video. If you want to find out something specific from our full review, please let us know in the comments. We’ll do our best to answer your questions in the comments and in the video review. If you decide to pick up a pair of these headphones for yourself, please considering purchasing them through our Amazon link here.
