Yes, we believe that The Daily could change the way we read news but first impressions were a little more than dreary. Everyone was desperately hoping for a game-changing news app but only found crashes, slow load times and generally unsatisfied results. Within a few days of launch, the development team had an update in the App Store that made the first iOS subscription-based app worth using. Since then, most reviewers updated their notes and deemed it a success. We avoided it during that first version because we wanted to view it as the creators intended. After our first couple days with it, we found The Daily… revolutionary. It was the first ‘newspaper’ we’ve read from beginning to end in years. Granted we glanced over the gossip section, but everything else was informative, entertaining and very well delivered.
